Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detailed oriented mechanic with expertise in performing annual inspections on trailers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, including proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various trailer components. This mechanic would be responsible for conducting annual inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, identifying and addressing mechanical issues and maintaining detailed inspection reports.

This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show site based out of Orlando, FL.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Annual inspections: Perform thorough inspections on trailers in compliance with DOT regulations to ensure road worthiness and safety.

  • Diagnose and Repair: Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical and structural issue in trailers and execute timely and effective repairs to ensure optimal functionality.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate accurate reporting.

  • Compliance Management: Stay updated on DOT regulations and industry standards ensuring that all inspections and repairs adhere to legal requirements.

  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high quality standards in all maintenance and repair tasks ensuring that trailers meet safety and performance criteria.

  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members including drivers and fleet managers to address maintenance and concerns promptly and efficiently.

  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during all maintenance and repair activities to create a secure working environment.

  • Tools and equipment maintenance: Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment used in trailer inspections and repairs.

  • Training: Stay informed about emerging technologies and attend relevant training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in trailer maintenance and inspection procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Welding experience.

  • 1 Year DOT mechanic experience

  • BRAKE INSPECTOR QUALIFICATIONS• All qualifications outlined in 49 CFR – Part 396.19.• “Brake Inspector” means any employee of a motor carrier who is responsible for ensuring all brake inspections, maintenance, service, or repairs to any commercial motor vehicle, subject to the motor carrier’s control, meet the applicable Standards. No motor carrier shall require or permit any employee who does not meet minimum brake inspector qualifications to be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, service or repairs of any brakes on its commercial motor vehicles.• Minimum QualificationsINSPECTOR QUALIFICATIONS• All qualifications outlined in 49 CFR – Part 396.19.• Motor carriers are responsible for ensuring that individual(s) performing an annual inspection under 396.19 are qualified as follows:

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must meet all criteria to be a DOT annual inspector.
